Art Impressions Watercolor: Light to my Path

As soon as I saw this new set from Art Impressions, Light to my Path, I knew I had to make a card with it.  Now, this set came out as part of their new bible journaling line, but it is also great for cardmakers.  You may be asking, why did I have to make a card out of this set?  Great question!  Because....I could finally use the vine stamp the way it was intended - as a climbing vine up a pole!  Every month in my Art Impressions class, I always have to say, "Now only ink about half of the vine", but now I could say, ink the whole vine - how exciting is that?  I know, maybe not for you, but for me that was super exciting!

For the images I watercolor, I don't like to make complicated cards, as I think the image says it all, so I usually just mount it on some Kraft Cardstock and put the sentiment on the inside.

While I was coloring this, I had the thought, "What if I turn this into a night scene?"  This time I inked the bench in #45 Sepia and #86 African Violet to make it look like gray wood, which I thought fit the night scene better.
Mounted it on some black cardstock and a gray embossed card back, and the card was ready to go! Well almost, a little Wink of Stella helped the light shine a little bit more:)

Hope you enjoyed today's cards.  Thanks for stopping by.

My Favorite Things - Frightfully Sweet

Hi!
Thanks so much for joining me on this beautiful Fall day here in Central Illinois.  I so love jean and sweatshirt weather! The cooler temps remind me Halloween is just around the corner.  Now, I will let you in on a little secret, I really am not a big Halloween person - I stink at Halloween Costumes and don't decorate, but I do love to make Halloween cards.  The minute I saw Frighfully Sweet from My Favorite Things, I knew I had to make a couple of cards with it!

For the next card, I opted not to do the racoon, and instead added a couple of pumpkins around the sentiment.

Racoon:
Dark Racoon: N3, N5, N7
Light Racoon:  N0, N1
Hat:  N5, N7, N9
Pumpkin:  Y17, Y38, YR68
Bow Tie and Hat:  YG11, YG13, YG17

Fox
Light Squirrel:  YR20, YR21
Dark Squirrel: YR21, YR24, YR27
Pumpkin:  Y17, Y38, YR68
Cape:  V12, V15, V17

Bunny:
Body:  W0, 0
Ears:  R20
Cape:  YG11, YG13, YG17
Pumpkin:  Y17, Y38, YR68

Bow Tie:  V12, V15, V17

Hope you enjoyed my cards. Thanks for stopping by.

Altenew Educator Certification Program - Re-thinking Reinkers

Happy Monday Everyone,
Today I was working on the Re-Thinking Reinkers Class. When I have used Re-Inkers in the past, I tended to use them for the whole background, so this class was a good reminder that it can be just a part of the card.
I used Alcohol Re-inkers on Yupo paper and then die cut both the Yupo paper and black cardstock with Stitched Rectangles.

After playing with either one wide strip or 2 smaller ones, I thought the 2 smaller strips looked better.  The sentiment was cut from Altenew Bold Alphabet and I put Black Wink of Stella on top to help the letters pop.  Remember, I always like a little shine, right?

Thanks for stopping by,
